The Hawks declined to comment on a report on Tuesday that an investigation into corruption allegations against expelled ANC Youth League president Julius Malema was concluding and his arrest was imminent.

"We are not going to comment," said Hawks spokesman McIntosh Polela.

Polela was responding to a report on Eyewitness News that Malema could be arrested before the end of the week.

The radio station said the Hawks had completed an investigation into Malema's Ratanang Family Trust, taxes, and allegations of tender fraud against him.

The Hawks are also investigating a charge of inciting violence, recently brought by trade union Solidarity against Malema for allegedly inciting violence during the strike at Lonmin's Marikana mine in North West.
