DA Leader Helen Zille said that a DA victory in the Western Cape is not a certainty, according to a copy of her speech at Greenmarket Square, Cape Town

"It is by no means certain that the DA will win in the Western Cape or Gauteng, but it is possible if every person who stands together for change and together for jobs turns out to vote for the DA on May 7."

"We can win the Western Cape again, and we can keep the ANC below 50 percent in Gauteng," Zille said.

She said more and more South Africans were recognising the Democratic Alliance as the only party that could stop corruption.

"The DA has introduced legislation to stop government employees from doing business with the government," she said.

In the last quarter of 2013, the DA government in the Western Cape created more jobs than all the other provinces combined, she claimed.

"Where the DA governs, the economy is growing faster than other provinces and unemployment is the lowest in South Africa. We will intensify our efforts to persuade every person that they have the power to change South Africa and that change is within their reach."
