Minister Molewa challenges auditor-general

Environmental Affairs Minister Edna Molewa will miss the deadline for tabling her department’s 2015-16 annual report in Parliament as she is challenging the qualified audit the department was given by the auditor-general.

She wrote a letter to Parliament saying she was unable to comply with section 65 of the Public Finance Management Act and table the department’s annual report by the end of September.

She said she was discussing the report as a priority with the auditor-general and Treasury‚ and hoped to table the report by December 31‚ reports Business Day.
