A Premier Soccer League (PSL) star player has told of how he was pulled up by a member of the South African Police Service (SAPS) near Woodmead on Thursday morning and robbed of his cash and personal belongings.

The 27-year-old former Bafana Bafana striker, Bradley Grobler, who currently plays for Pretoria giants SuperSport United United, told Soccer Laduma on Friday about his ordeal, which happened while he was driving to training.

“He took between R1,000 and R2,000 out of my wallet. He then saw two of my jackets in the car and took them, and a pair of shoes,” Grobler told the soccer website.

“He told me to get out the car and took my keys, wallet and phone from me. He then checked my (phone’s) camera to see if I was recording him.

“He said that either he arrests me or I sort him out. He said that he knows I’m a soccer player and we get paid well, and he wanted something.

The former Platinum Stars player added: “It was a horrible experience, being robbed by a police officer. These are the people we trust and look to for help, but they are the ones who land up robbing us.”
