Since he became chairman of the ANC kindergarten in the Northern Cape last year, Shadrack Tlhaole has been generally ignored by the media.

Our Mampara must have been chuffed this week when he finally made the headlines after he demanded corruption charges against Northern Cape ANC chairman John Block be dropped. He said the behaviour of public prosecutions head, Menzi Simelane, during Block's bail application "compelled" the kindergarten "to believe that he is not the only rented dog of a political conspiracy against our leader".

When Block was released on bail our Mampara and his comrades celebrated outside the court building, claiming that their leader had been "vindicated".
