More air passengers than you might think are superstitious, with a recent survey finding that 65% of holidaymakers indulge in some specific ritual that they hope will keep them from harm.

According to The Telegraph, a survey by booking website Sunshine.co.uk has revealed the top 10 superstitious behaviours linked to flying, which are as follows:

1. Touching the outside of the plane before getting on;

2. Carrying a good-luck charm;

3. Refusing to sit in certain seat numbers;

4. Saying prayers or mantras;

5. Only flying at certain times;

6. Only flying with certain airlines;

7. Holding hands;

8. Sticking to a routine (such as always ordering the same drink);

9. Only flying from certain airports; and

10. Not flying on certain dates.
