The People's Bae responds to AKA's EFF boycott
EFF national spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi has lambasted comments made by AKA that he would be boycotting EFF and DA political rallies.
Popularly known as The People's Bae, EFF spokesperson Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, has come out strongly against comments made by AKA earlier this week on boycotting rallies of political parties that he does not support.
In a series of tweets, AKA explained that he had been approached to perform at DA and EFF events, but had made the decision not to take part, because "I realized I don't need the money that bad."
AKA to boycott DA and EFF events: I don't need the money that bad As the season of political rallies continues, more and more artists are being called on to perform at political events. Several artists have spoken out about performing for parties that they do not necessarily support, but perhaps none of them have been as vocal as rapper AKA.
The musician said he would support the ANC explaining that "The ANC is faaaaar from perfect, but I firmly believe it's the only political party with the credentials and policies to lead our country."
Inside AKA, Bonang and Zinhle’s awkward trip to Mauritius AKA, DJ Zinhle and Bonang Matheba continue to be a talking point among fans across the country as all three of them jetted off to Mauritius along with various other celebrities for a party in paradise.
Now spokesperson Mbuyiseni has hit back, saying that while he understand that AKA has made his decision, he does have fans in the EFF that he is now neglecting.
The point is not for artists to choose sides, because their music which in @akaworldwide case is really not political. U hav fans in EFF too

I hav no problem with @akaworldwide membership of ANC. I support the right to affiliate. But why boycott EFF when many fighters buy yo music

The mistake @akaworldwide makes is to think being a conscious rapper means boycotting political parties u don't support. It's Unartistic!
