American digital record label Punk Outlaw Records has recently announced that it has taken on South African punk band Half Price under their wing.

Coming in as the first band in Africa to sign with the international record label, Half Price has toured extensively in South Africa and plans to take their potent sound to US audiences.

This comes after a meeting with veteran indie TV producer and Punk Outlaw Records owner, Robert G. Rose, who insisted on seeing the quartet when he was in South Africa filming his popular and rapidly growing international television series, Raw Travel.

According to a press statement, Robert tricked them into playing his favourite songs over and over while pretending to film them for his TV show. Impressed by their level of musicianship, the record label owner decided to sign them under Punk Outlaw Records.

"Half Price is one of the most talented bands I’ve come across in all my travels, so I want to bring their music stateside. I don’t know if it will be well-received, but to be honest I don’t really care." Robert stated.

Adding, "It’s more about staying true to what you believe in and I believe in Half Price. I also believe messages put forth in this collection of songs will ring true to fans as well."

In addition to featuring on Raw Travel’s upcoming Season 4 sound track debuting October 2016, the band's album, Straight Outta (South) Africa has been released on all the major digital sites including iTunes, Google Music, and Amazon Music.
