Sealed with a slap: Is this the one beef AKA has yet to truly resolve?
The last few months have seen the rapper freeze his beef with his former rivals Cassper Nyovest and Anatii. And while we’re all grateful for a little less drama, it seems AKA might still have to fully make peace with his rival Black Coffee.
Any animosity between the two was cast into the spotlight last year when Black Coffee took to Twitter to shade local hip-hop. He even mentioned artists “attacking tweeps”. AKA defended the movement and soon a Twitter war between the pair erupted.
But if you thought that the pair had left their petty in 2015, you were wrong.
While many may have forgotten their tiff, AKA didn’t forget. So, when Black Coffee won the Best International Act: Africa award at the BET Awards in June and invited all of the nominees to join him on stage, AKA remained seated. Ouch!
AKA later took to Twitter to explain his decision.
And then uploaded a picture of himself and Bonang with Black Coffee and Enhle.

The tension between them escalated again when a video of DJ Black Coffee slapping AKA's road manager Tshiamo Letshwene during DSTV's I Rock Music Festival in Polokwane went viral.
In the short video, captured exclusively by Zkhiphani, Black Coffee can be seen talking to two men, but the conversation quickly went downhill as Black Coffee can be seen planting a stinging slap on Tshiamio's face.
AKA's camp went out guns blazing in their pursuit of DJ Black Coffee, calling his actions " ignorant, distasteful and not of someone level headed or mature".
They also called on Black Coffee to apologise to the road manager directly.
Black Coffee later publicly apologised in a statement, saying he regretted the incident and sincerely apologised to Tshiamo.
Fans wondered if the pair would ever see eye-to-eye.
So, imagine their surprise when the Baddest rapper took to the Spring Fiesta stage in October to address his relationship with Black Coffee, saying "sh*t happens".
He would later tell Slikour that he had walked up Black Coffee at an event in Durban and wished him well.
