A recording of the 911 call which led to the arrest of two black men at a Starbucks has been released. A female caller phoned the police after the two men refused to leave the store and refused to buy anything.

They were arrested, despite not breaking the law. The incident led Starbucks to announce that nation-wide closures at its stores would take place and staff would be given racial bias training.

It's not the first incident where people have been criticised for phoning the police unnecessarily. Trevor Noah recounted a story about a white woman phoning police to complain about a group of black people who weren't supposed to use coal when making their braai.

Trevor said he believed that the reason white people happily phone the cops is because there is no price to pay.

He suggested that every 911 call have a $5 charge and if it turns out that the complaint is legitimate, then the money will be refunded.

You can watch him explain his theory below:

Trevor proposes an idea to stop non-emergency 9-1-1 calls in the wake of a white woman calling the police on a group of people for barbecuing while black.
