First of all, don't ever let them tell you otherwise here in South Africa: We've got some of the best rappers the world has EVER seen.

Now that that's out of the away, in 2018, Stogie T added to the list of South African rappers that have represented Mzansi on the international stage - particularly on Sway Calloway's show Sway In The Morning.

While the show is one of the most prestigious platforms you could be on as hip-hop artist, it is the "impromptu" freestyle moments that separate the men from the boys where bars, lyrics and just top-notch rap is concerned.

From lukewarm to sh*t hot freestyles, these local stars have done their best.

Check the list out and see if you agree.

2. The coolest kid from Africa: Nasty C

At the end of it, Sway was on his feet screaming some of his favourite lines from the freestyle.

"My girls body is like a DJ Khaled album, nice features! Who does that? I should be giving all these dues," Sway screamed into the mic.

1. The undisputed king of bars: Stogie T aka Tumi from the Volume aka Tumi Molekane!

Our fave lines from his freestyle.

"I am from the continent of poverty and long walk accomplishments. Where fallen heroes give birth to spoilt rotten kids. Where the opulent meet the poor cleaning their offices. We push rocket ships like Elon Musk, charge the whip but still stuck in sh*t because we don't have a pot to p*ss in."
