Mzansi concerned about Babes Wodumo: She needs to change her circle

Musician Bongekile Simelane, popularly known as Babes Wodumo, has received some words of advice from Twitter and her music fans. Babes dominated Twitter trends lists on Monday, following her appearance at uMlazi Magistrate's court.

She and her sister were slapped with a R1,000 fine or 30 days in jail for failure to appear in court in connection to their assault case and were found guilty of contempt of court.

The singer's estranged boyfriend Mandla 'Mampintsha' Maphumulo is currently out on R2,000 bail after being charged with assault.

The couple made headlines after live video footage set up by Babes showed Mampintsha hitting her. He has since apologised publicly.

Tweeps are concerned about her well-being and say Babes needs to surround herself with people who care about her and will help propel her career to even greater heights.
