Four years after YoTV star Akhumzi Jezile died, his friend Clement Maosa has remembered him fondly and the “traditional” #TuesdayMovieNight they used to share.

Akhumzi died in a car crash in the Eastern Cape in April 2018 with singer Siyasanga Kobese and actor Thobani Mseleni.

Posting on his Instagram timeline on Tuesday, the Skeem Saam actor shared pictures of their moments together, saying he was sharing these memories with a smile.

“You should have seen my disappointment, but then I started reminiscing about the good old days. We were truly committed and not a single Tuesday missed. We would arrive an hour earlier for dinner and to catch up discuss the movie afterwards and what to take from it ... in most cases there were heated conversations because some were more opinionated than others. Thank God Musa was based in Durban at that time.”

“Someone would go back to Walnut restaurant for a slice of cheesecake while some entered the cinema with illegal substances inside coffee cups ... depression was a foreign concepts to our minds because there was so much assurance and backup ... some weeks we would have odd guests and I would be shocked how they made it onto the list, but we kept moving.”

Media personality Andile Gaelesiwe remembered her friends early in August by taking to her Instagram timeline and sharing pictures of them together.

In another post shared in March this year, Andile spoke of the love Akhumzi's mother has for her children when showcasing a tribute tattoo she did in his honour.

“Her love for her babies knows no bounds and Ke Jez will forever be ingrained in our hearts. Beautiful accurate tat that. Miss you babes nala babes wethu u Kobese. Life would’ve been so interesting with you two in these times, lol. Continue to be blessings friends, even beyond.”
