Sithelo Shozi has applauded actress Sonia Mbele for how she addressed abuse allegations against her son.

Taking to her Twitter timeline, the DJ posted Sonia's name with a trophy next to it.

The allegations against Sonia’s son Donell by his estranged lover also saw Sithelo, MaMkhize and Andile Mkhize make the South African Twitter trends. This because when Sithelo made similar accusations against Andile, MaMkhize had a different reaction compared to Sonia.

MaMkhize said she and her family had never witnessed the alleged abuse.

“I would like to categorically state that neither myself nor my family have been witness to any alleged abuse against Sithelo.”

The businesswoman said in her statement posted on her Instagram timeline she would take legal action.

“Given the nature, severity and extent of these allegations the matter has been referred to our attorneys and  from now they will be handling everything in relation to this matter. It's of the utmost importance that we let the law takes its course in this regard.”

In contrast, Sonia took to her socials and released an official statement saying her son will take responsibility.

“As a mother, I wish she had come to me to inform me of what was going on because finding out on social media broke my heart. I've always been there, I've been supportive.

“I now realise I should have taken preventive measures much earlier, such as counselling and/or child therapy, but sometimes the mistake we tend to make as African single mothers is to assume and hope things will work out for the best; meanwhile, certain past behaviour can affect generations to come.

“That said, Donell will face his demons and take accountability for his actions and let the law take its course. I refuse to raise a man like his father. Rehab, therapy and internal healing will prevail.”
