DJ Sumbody's siblings and mother are shattered after the death of their “champion” son and brother.

Arriving at the venue, DJ Sumbody's emotion-stricken mother struggled to walk up straight when entering the building. She read a letter to her son at the ceremony.

“I don't know what to say first. I thought our journey would be long. I even wished to have seen you get married so I can be like other women with grandkids ... I was so hurt to a point of being speechless. I'm still shocked ... you worked hard,” read the letter.

DJ Sumbody's brother Koketso Sefoka took to the podium revealing he was the second closest person to the late star to arrive at the scene of the crime and was overwhelmed with emotion.

“We've been robbed. We've been robbed of a brother, a son to my mother, a partner to Tlotlo ... I'm shattered. I was the second respondent on the scene, and I think before my fathers death I've never cried as much as I have. I broke down into pieces.”

Koketso said he wanted to see his brother get justice for his brother.

“I didn't get to say goodbye to my brother ... the people who took my brother’s life, you robbed us of everything we've ever cherished. My mother is shattered, Tlotlo is shattered. But justice will come one way or another. He was a peacemaker, so we don't understand why. Whatever is his, nobody can get.

His sister Ouma tried to hold back the tears but said she was inconsolable that her “shield” had been taken from her.

“Oupa never had time ... but funny enough for the past two years he made so much time for me, till his last day on earth. I didn't know he was saying goodbye to me, I didn't know he was bidding us farewell ... the people who took Oupa away from us don't know what they did ... You hurt us really badly.”

The late star’s uncle, Kenneth Sefoka, said he was sad to see DJ Sumbody die so young.

“If there was any time we could be together, keep me in your heart. I will stay there forever. Having to say goodbye to someone you love is always difficult, saying goodbye to someone as young as Oupa is even more challenging.”
