Emtee had his fans concerned for his life after he went live on Instagram while wearing a bulletproof vest.

The clip that seems to have gone viral shows the rapper wearing his ensemble and speaking about fearing for his life.

Emtee mentioned the death of musician and businessman Oupa John “DJ Sumbody” Sefoka. DJ Sumbody was reportedly shot dead on November 20.

Police spokesperson Col Mavela Masondo told TimesLIVE Gauteng police were searching for suspects and investigating circumstances that led to the shooting in which DJ Sumbody and another person died.

In the post Emtee suggested there were people who wanted to kill him.

“Real deal. Move like a secret agent now. I've got a bulletproof vest on. N*ggas want to kill me. They say they want to do me like DJ Sumbody. We have to keep this vest on. N*ggas is niggas are killing n*ggas out there. I've got to. I have kids,” he said.

In a recent sit down with Da L.E.S, Emtee spoke about how death had traumatised him. 

“I am traumatised by a lot of deaths that have been going on, especially of people you've come across, felt their energy, embraced them. It messes with me in a way. I think it makes me more anti-social.”
