Musa Mseleku's wives MaCele and MaYeni have been bashed for not attending Thobile MaKhumalo's Umembeso ceremony.

An Umembeso is a Zulu tradition which involves the giving of gifts including blankets,  head scarves, clothes, food and straw mats to a bride's family.

In a recent episode of uThando Nes'thembu, MaKhumalo extended an invitation to her sister wives. However, Mseleku's first wife Busisiwe MaCele and second wife Nokukhanya MaYeni declined, despite having previously attended other weddings.

"Thank you for the invite. Unfortunately I will not be able to make it because the event includes Musa Mseleku. If the event didn't include Musa Mseleku, I would attend it. I'm not going because I'm done with wedding events," MaCele said.

"I won't be able to come. The reason for that is not because I don't want to support you, as you always do when we do events for Mseleku. But my understanding is that the person who is having the Umebeso is you. If you're being gifted, it's your event not mine," MaYeni said.

MaKhumalo said while she wasn't surprised by MaYeni not honouring the invitation, she was dismayed at MaCele's rejecting it as she had attended the other wives' events.

"I am very disappointed in MaCele. I did everything that was expected of me and more," MaKhumalo said.

Musa's fourth wife Mbali MaNgwabe was the only wife in attendance ather plush ceremony on September 10 at Umzumbe, Port Shepstone.

Fans weighed in on social media, with some claiming MaCele had done MaKhumalo "wrong".
