Amapiano singer and songwriter Daliwonga has launched his widely anticipated single 10KM.

The song reflects the softer side of Daliwonga. Having made big club hits the artist said he wanted to try something different just in time for the month of love.

The song was inspired by a song by one of his favourite artists, Brenda Fassie — Too Late For Mama. “We took the 10km part, and we made it a song since we were going towards Valentine's Day,” he told TshisaLIVE.

Having released the song on Friday, February 10, Daliwonga says he and his team decided to only have the big celebration on February 22 to respect the passing of rapper AKA who was gunned down on that day.

Daliwonga has been at the forefront of the amapiano scene with the help of DJ Maphorisa.

Coming up in the industry, the singer recalls making music every day until getting his big break.

Cîroc hosted an exclusive party at Opera restaurant, Rosebank, Johannesburg, to celebrate the strides he's made in the music industry.

The single release party saw the likes of Bontle Smith, TXC Tarryn, Vyno Miller and many other celebrities gather to spend the big day with Daliwonga.

After the release of his latest single, Daliwonga says his fans have much to anticipate as he's got plans to launch a big project later this year.

“We never really plan to get to where we are. We do not know if we are going to get to where we are right now or where we're headed but we push and give all the hard work necessary.”
