Vuyo Ngcukana announces his next venture after 'The Queen'

Vuyo Ngcukana has made a TV comeback after his stint on The Queen.

The actor, who was popularly known for his role as Schumacher on The Queen, had fans itching to see him on the small screen again after series seven ended on January 13. 

“That's what people know, they've never met Vuyo. For seven years, the only person they know me to be is Schumacher, so that's what they relate to. The reason Schumacher became so popular because he was so relatable to many people, Shu taught be that human beings are complex... I loved his tenacity, he never gave up,” he said in an interview with Metro FM. 

Taking to his timeline on Tuesday, Vuyo revealed he's bagged a role on a new show 1802: Love Defies Time.

“You guys have been asking 'What’s next' and now I can finally give you an answer,” he wrote. 

In his Instagram stories, Vuyo said he was coming from a place of healing.

“The scars are healing, I'm doing interviews again and I'm really comfortable.”

The new series, set to premiere in May on 1 Magic, is a captivating Xhosa love story that follows two star-crossed lovers as they travel through time in search of their destiny with fantasy and mythology elements.

Speaking about his character, Vuyo said while there had been many shows that played similar themes, 1802: Love Defies Time would give viewers nostalgia.
