Sonia Mbele opens up about her marriage ending, processing divorce and finding love again

Sonia Mbele has opened up about the reasons that led to the end of her marriage to Leslie Sedibe. 

Though the actress said she felt like she was becoming the poster child for divorce, she said she needed to share her story, a journey she began in 2021.

The actress and businesswoman was a guest on Dineo Ranaka's Sex 'n Stuff podcast where, among other things, she talked about her journey as she navigated life after divorce and finding love again.

“While I was there [marriage] and waking up to the dawn of who are you, who did I marry, and living with that person everyday and realising this is an 'MF'. In the world though, I'm in my space with my children, trying to say he is the problem, and everyone going you can't be right. Praying that one day my children, not everyone else, but my children wake up to see him for who and what he really is,” she said, describing the state of her marriage. 

Sonia also shared other instances and signs that showed her marriage was ending.

Towards the end of the episode, Dineo shared how her new partner made her feel, with Sonia adding that she hoped they aren't judged harshly for sharing their stories 

“We are real, we are human, we need to heal, and I know I will find him and he will find me,” said Sonia about finding love again. 

Sonia's divorce from Leslie left many itching for answers about what went wrong.

The actress gave details while being interviewed by Phat Joe on Mzansi Magic's Cheeky Palate, saying that she had healed from her past.

“There was a time when we did not speak for years, and I am comfortable talking about this now. But there was a time when I wasn’t. The reason I am comfortable about this now is because my children are grown and old enough to know, decipher, assess and decide ... what I am saying now will no longer be a shocker to them,” she said.
