Lorna Maseko is beaming with pride after her face recently appeared on a billboard in Times Square in New York.
The media personality and chef took to her timeline to share a video of the captured moment with the caption: “So this epic thing happened — I’m on a billboard in #TimesSquare. I really have no words or caption to capture this moment, literally my wildest dreams. I hope my daughter is proud when she sees this and understands one day. So grateful.”
Lorna has been taking strides in the culinary industry, from launching her cookbook to hosting the BBC Lifestyle show Homegrown Tastes South Africa, which premiered in March last year.
“Getting an international-based show has always been one of my goals because it is time to put South Africa on the culinary global stage. Another highlight for me is how beautiful this country is. There are gems here and I guess with Covid-19 restrictions being eased, people can travel and see that,” she told True Love.
Among her many accolades is the 2020 Luxe Restaurant Awards' Culinary Icon Award.
In April 2023, Lorna launched her catering company.
“If you have an event anywhere in the world, whether intimate or large, we’ll come to you and craft a unique culinary experience just for your event and guests,” she said.
