Watch: Skin

Jamie Bell gives his all in his depiction of a former American skinhead driven into the arms of white supremacists by a difficult childhood. After a prison term, he returns to try to bring down his former blood brothers with the help of the FBI and his black activist girlfriend. It's a difficult but necessary examination of the increasing dangers and delusions of a movement that's been allowed far too much breathing space in the Trump era of fake news and alt-right insanity, with a human story of redemption and forgiveness at its core.

Watch: Citizen K

Award-winning documentary director Alex Gibney travels to the frozen plains of Russia to investigate the story of Mikhail Khodorovsky - one of the first post-Cold War oligarchs who made billions in the oil industry before his outspoken anti-Putin positions saw him become public enemy no 1 and fall from the heights of penthouse opulence to land up in prison for 10 years. As much an examination of one man's flaws and hubris, it's also a compelling introduction to the complicated politics of the country since the end of communism that offers yet another searing indictment of Putin and his paranoid hunger for power.

Newcomer Charly Clive stars in this cringey black comedy about a young woman who has a unique form of OCD, which makes it impossible for her not to spend every waking minute thinking about sex. As she tries to navigate life in London and learn to try her best to keep a lid on her increasingly wild fantasies, she may learn something about herself while causing havoc in her wake. Smart, sharply written and endearingly acted, it's a sympathetic portrayal of what may sound like a fun way to live your life but turns out to be a nasty crutch for those who actually have to deal with it.

Watch: The Twelve

This Belgian series takes the premise of 12 Angry Men and extends it into a drama series about a group of ordinary people doing jury duty in a scandalous murder case that's capturing the public imagination. As the trial progresses each episode cranks up the pressure on the jurors as we learn more about their own personal lives and secrets and wait to see how all of these may or may not affect the most important decision they'll ever have to make in their lives.
