NOW, WE'RE SICK OF HIM
This Mampara could have spared himself the public embarrassment by resigning when President Cyril Ramaphosa asked him to.
Now, it has emerged, in addition to the charges he faces, he instructed a SARS employee, Helgard Lombard, to fake illness and absent himself from a meeting with KPMG employees who were investigating the "rogue unit". Lombard's input may well have assisted KPMG in arriving at a different conclusion.
Lombard has told a court he was not sick and could have made himself available had Mamparayane not instructed him to do otherwise. Under this Mampara, SARS undercollected by R50-billion, partly the reason why VAT had to go up to 15% and the fuel levy had to be increased. Don't wait for the disciplinary process: just hit the road, Tom!
