While Mama Winnie Madikizela's funeral may have past, black women particularly are still fired up and plan on keeping her legacy alive. And, this monologue by Lerato Mvelase will snatch your soul!

One of the most prominent things that make Ma Winnie's life worth documenting is the strength she portrayed even after undergoing unimaginable pain.

In this monologue, a project by Actor Spaces, Lerato gives a convincing performance of a time in Ma Winnie's life.

"The cell in which I was held at the beginning was so small that if I stretched my hands I touched both walls.

"To this day, the memory of that bunch of keys, the clicking the noise they deliberately make and the solitude and stillness of prison life, you felt like they were hitting the inner core of your soul."

There has been a general awakening in women across Mzansi and the world since Ma Winnie died.

With their #IamWinnie and #SheMulitiplied movements women have taken it upon themselves to nuture all the qualities they possess that made Winnie the great icon she was.
