Cristiano Ronaldo got the only goal of the game as Portugal beat hosts Russia 1-0 in the Confederations Cup in Moscow on Wednesday.

The 32-year-old scored after just eight minutes in the Group A game to give the Euro 2016 winners their first victory of the tournament.

Group rivals Mexico and New Zealand meet later in Sochi.
