MOTHERLESS BROOKLYN

Edward Norton directs and stars in this gritty, suitably paranoid and satisfyingly twisty neo-noir, adapted from the novel by Jonathan Lethem. When his mentor is savagely murdered, a lonely Tourette's syndrome-suffering private detective sets out to find the murderers in a trip into a murky, morally ambiguous underworld that will take him deep into the heart of a corrupt empire and the villain who controls it.

WORN STORIES

Adapted from the bestselling book by Lauren Spivacek, this docuseries takes a refreshingly personal and heartfelt approach, examining the ways we relate to our clothes and how they reflect what we choose to project about ourselves. Combining interviews, archival footage and animation in eight thematically organised episodes, it's a smart, funny and human-oriented series about an important part of our everyday lives.

DELHI CRIME

An excellently executed police procedural that tells the true story of the investigation into the tragic and outrage-inducing 2012 Nirbhaya gang rape case, which reverberated around the world. Told from the perspective of the dedicated members of the Delhi police force tasked with bringing the perpetrators to justice, it paints a vivid picture of life in the city and the frustrating political machinations that made its quick and efficient closure a matter of such national and international urgency.

SHTISEL — SEASON 3

Produced in response to the unexpected global popularity of its first two seasons, Yehonatan Indursky and Ori Elon's dense Victorian-novel-style drama series about the ebbs and flows of life behind the veil of the secretive Ultra-Orthodox Jewish community in Israel continues to provide plenty of well-drawn characters and big-issue challenges that resonate well beyond the claustrophobic walls of its sealed-off and out of touch religious setting.

THEM

This anthology series promises a new, creepy and relevant use of the horror genre to interrogate issues around race and the terror of "the other" in the US. Set in the 1950s in North Carolina, the first season tells the story of a black family who take advantage of the post-World War 2 boom to move to a predominantly white neighbourhood only to find that things are not what they seem.
