EASY DRINKING

Porcupine Ridge Merlot 2021/2022

This medium-bodied wine, with its soft tannins, medium-high acidity and hints of berries and dark chocolate will go well with the savoury ingredients and rich cheese found on a pizza.  Subtle hints of mocha and dark milk chocolate linger with a vibrant finish.

SEAFOOD SAVVY

David Finlayson Sauvignon Blanc 2021/2022

This softer, rounder version of sauvignon blanc than most modern-day examples is a nod to the French style of the Loire. Crisp, clean acidity is met by a creamy midpalate. This goes well with seafood dishes, particularly sushi, as well as a pizza topped with smoked salmon and cream cheese.

HALE AND HEARTY

Leeuwenkuil Shiraz 2020/2021

This Swartland shiraz for everyday drinking shows opulent bright fruit on the nose and an elegant palate of round tannins layered with clove spice, ripe cherries and violets. This is a wine meant to be paired with food, matching well with grilled meat, roast duck and hearty pasta dishes. If you like mega-meat pizzas, this is the one for you.
