A Zimbabwean ambulance crew recently made a run for it when they learnt that an emergency they were called to involved a suspected case of Ebola.

According to myzimbabwe.co.zw, Provincial Medical Director, Dr Milton Chemhuru, said that the incident revealed how ill-prepare for Ebola the Midlands province.

A woman who had visited TB Joshua's church in Nigeria told her husband that she was suffering from a headache and fever, and that she was vomiting blood.

"So the husband called EMRAS and they came. When EMRAS came, the first thing they asked, ‘have you been to Nigeria, Sierra Leone or Equatorial Guinea?' The woman said yes and the ambulance crew said ‘aah' and ran away," said Chemhuru.

Chemhuru said that evening he received a call from Kwekwe District Hospital Superintendent, who said they had a suspected case of Ebola and her entire team was not willing to attend to it.

The Council Director of Health later volunteered to attend to the patient, finding that it had been over 82 days since she arrived back home from Nigeria after checking the woman's passport.

It turned out that the woman wanted to get attention from the husband by pretending to be ill.
