TMG Digital asked the DA's potential mayors – depending on the final election results and outcome of anticipated coalition negotiations – this single question about the capital city Tshwane‚ economic powerhouse Johannesburg and coastal hub Nelson Mandela.Which party won in your town? I need my officials and councillors to sign a performance agreement to hold everybody to account‚” he said.Service delivery would be a priority area of focus. “I will ensure we bring service delivery to the centre of what we do. There have been problems were people were not getting water and electricity. I will try to put our finances in order‚” he said.Msimanga also planned to attract businesses to Tshwane and create employment opportunities.JOHANNESBURGSimphiwe Nkwali DA mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba said he would assemble a management team of “clever” people. “The ‘clever blacks’ that (President Jacob) Zuma created‚ I want them. I like clever people. I want people to fly. If you want to be a soccer star‚ we will allow you‚ but you must be clever‚” he said.His first priority would be setting in place a skills audit. “I need to know who is who in the zoo. I want to put the right people in right positions and not have a situation where a police officer heads the social development department. If you are a social worker‚ we will put you in the social development department. You won’t see girlfriends running departments‚” said Mashaba.He also planned to speed up the allocation of title deeds and compile a public housing list.NELSON MANDELA BAYSIMPHIWE NKWALI DA mayoral candidate Athol Trollip got directly to the point when asked the question: “Deliver on our manifesto promise. “The manifesto promise is stop corruption‚ grow the economy‚ create jobs and to deliver better services‚” he said...
