From Queen's annoying gossip habit to Ngamla's knack for mispronouncing some words of the English language, we take a journey through the top sixteen moments from the 'old' Generations.

1. When Nic (Thato Molamu) couldn't get his hands off Zodwa (Xoli Zondi). The classic tale of the employer eyeing the help was given a slight twist as Zodwa pursued her boss to the point where he couldn't get enough of her. Their short-lived romance took a sour turn when Zodwa became infatuated with Nic and nearly ended up killing his girlfriend, Akhona.

2. Kenneth Mashaba (Seputla Sebogodi) finally got what was coming to him when his ex-wife, Dineo (Katlego Danke) teamed up with his nemesis, Ngamla to trick him into flying to Thailand. Mashaba was incarcerated and served a life sentence for carrying drugs on his person. Revenge at last for one of the soapie's uber villains!

3. Queen's (Sophie Ndaba) various love interests. From an Australian to a man who swindled her out of millions and her beloved Princie's inheritance, Queen was always a sucker for love. We'll miss her love for all things romantic and forget the one too many times she failed at it.

4. Noluntu Memela (Zenande Mfenyana) poisoning her mother, Mawande (Nambita Mpulwana) was a real low point for the soapie. It was far fetched and slightly unbelievable but we tuned in any way. Guess it was the absurdity of it all that kept us coming back

5. Dineo's fake pregnancy was a gripping plot which saw her psychotic side finally come out to play. Together with her sister Zimbini and Phenyo, the three spun a dramatic story of the lengths women would go through to keep a man. Just another day in South Africa!

6. Who could forget Mawande going crazy? The matriach of the Memela family hit rock bottom when she started wandering about madly and speaking to her dead brother as if he were alive.

7. She sang her way through many scenes but honestly, it would have been better if Ruby Dikobe (Silindile Nodangala) kept her voice to her self. She wasn't always on pitch but we loved her gangsta chutzpah anyway!

8. The first time Jason (Xolisa Xaluva) and Senzo (Thami Mnqolo) kissed, the whole of SA let out a breath. It was a victory for the LGBT community who were finally being represented in the most watched show in Mzansi.

9. We all could relate to Choppa's (Mandla Gaduka) hustling ways. He is that friend everybody has who just can't seem to catch a lucrative break.

10. The steamy affair between Noluntu and Phenyo was a hot moment. The two made for a sexy couple whom we couldn't keep our eyes off.

11. MJ (Anga Makhubalo) and Isabelle's (Carina Nel) sweet romance hit a snag when MJ fell for Khetiwe (Winnie Ntshaba). Their lustful tryst ended in Isabelle nursing a broken heart and MJ proposing to Khetiwe. Can anybody say cougar?

12. The tender moment when Nic found Akhona all drugged up and delirious with dementia. He showed off a sweet side when he professed to care for her through thick and thin.

13. When they thought no one was looking they stole a few kisses. Sibusiso (Menzi Ngubane) and Mawande's brief fling was a cute look at grown love.

14. The murder of Khapela was a classic Macbeth moment for Khetiwe. She plotted his death and when the deed was done, sought to kill of anyone who knew.

15. The introduction of the Memela family was an exciting point for the drama as ladies could swoon over MJ's chiselled body and Noluntu's beauty was a welcome treat.

16. If anyone had nine lives and then some on the soapie it was Ngamla. From stints in jail, disease, being paralysed to being shot at, he has seen it all but always managed to emerge stronger and able to declare that the Dlomos always come out on top.
