No-one can replace Jon Stewart: @TrevorNoah on replacing Jon Stewart

Comedian Trevor Noah is aiming high and taking a no-holds barred approach to his new American TV show, undaunted by the 1-million plus daily audience he needs to please.

Taking to social media for his first statement about the new gig, he promised to "continue to make this the best damn news show!", with the help of the "amazing" team at The Daily Show.

Noah has made three guest appearances on the show, and clearly impressed. In his statement today, he didn’t forget to pay tribute to the outgoing host, commenting:

No-one can replace Jon Stewart. But together with the amazing team at The Daily Show, we will continue to make this the best damn news show!
