New AfroPop king Nathi Mankayi and his band survived a car accident on their way to perform in Nelspruit on Saturday but were so courageous they went on to perform with their neck braces on like nothing ever happened.

Nathi’s band, along with Vusi Nova, were travelling from Johannesburg to Nelspruit when they were involved in a crash that left their Hyundai H1 a wreck.

Despite the crash, six of the seven band members appeared on stage at the show at Emnotweni.

“We thank God they’re okay. Three of them got away with scratches while three were given neck braces. Our bassist is in hospital after the doctor found that he was having back problems,” Nova told Daily Sun on Monday.
