Mariah Carey to marry on Caribbean island
Mariah Carey and James Packer will reportedly marry on the exclusive Caribbean island of Barbuda later this summer.
Carey will reportedly tie the knot with James Packer in front of just 50 guests on Barbuda - where the billionaire businessman is currently building a private $250 million resort with Robert De Niro - at some point this summer.
According to TMZ, the wedding is likely to take place sometime after mid-June, though no date has been set yet. Friends will be flown into the exclusive setting via private jet, though they haven't issued any invitations for the big day yet.
Carey - who was previously married to record company boss Tommy Motola and America's Got Talent host Nick Cannon - recently admitted she will be having a ''grand'' wedding.
She said: ''I'm most excited about the grandeur, darling. It's not gonna be a big wedding. But it's going to be grand. I think the most important thing is the relationship and, you know, just the connection. The love it of all. That's the most important thing, but of course I love a grand moment.''
The 45-year-old singer - who has four-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe with Nick - has kept details of Packer' proposal under wraps but admitted she was ''surprised'' when he popped the question.
She said: ''Darling, it's my engagement ring, we can't know when it's coming. ''We just have to receive it.'' And Mariah adores her stunning 35-carat diamond and platinum ring. She joked: ''Walking through a crowd with a ring on your finger and a lot of bracelets is a little bit, you know, daunting. ''But it's hard to take it off cause I love it so much.''
