Wright Ngubeni and his sister, Sarah Thabethe, are grateful to have survived a hijacking ordeal outside their parents' home recently.

According to Wright, he was coming from the house when three armed men approached him and forced him into Sarah's car - who had already been in the car, parked outside the house.

After driving off with them, the hijackers allegedly stripped them off their belongings, before leaving them stranded near a plot in Kyalami.

The actor revealed that the armed men explained that they only wanted Sarah's car and promised not to hurt them in the process.

"I was praying for the worst not to happen. Even though they promised not to us, they had guns to our heads the whole time," he told Move!

"I was so overwhelmed and worries about my sister. I knew that it was my responsibility to keep her calm. It was such a traumatic experience," he added.

In addition, the TV personality admitted to the local publication that his parents didn't take the incident well.

"My dad is definitely not okay and my mom still can't believe this could happen to her children."
