Celebrated musician and producer Robbie Malinga has unearthed some of the most talented acts to ever grace South African music. So when he says he's found a gem, then you best believe him.

Robbie, who has previously worked with the likes of Mafikizolo, Brown Dash, Arthur Mafokate, Kabelo and Zahara, this week shot a music video with one of the talents he believes can be counted among those stars: former Idols winner Musa Sukwene.

Talking about his collaboration with Musa entitled Mthande, Robbie said that he has known the star for several years and was drawn to his talent.

"I have been fortunate to work with the best at home and Musa fits well into that criteria of good musicians. He is one talented singer that knows what he is doing. For me, it's not about music. It's about spirit. It's about soul. It's not about just making a song. We need to feel each other and meet each other in spirit. That's my secret. I need to know everything about you and what makes you who you are for it to be a hit," Robbie says.

TMG Entertainment met up with the duo in the picturesque Steyn City in Johannesburg this week to catch a glimpse of the upcoming music video.

Described as a "love song for people to fall in love to" the video features a young couple walking through the scenic paths of Steyn City, while Robbie and Musa give a vocal performance atop a bridge.

Musa said that beyond expressing his feelings for love, he hopes that the song will inspire unity in South Africa.

"It's about uniting everyone in South Africa. We might be going through some hard times as a nation, but it's a reminder of love and how much we need it as a country," Musa says.

It's a sentiment shared by Robbie.
