International star Akon has a fan in local celeb Somizi, with the Idols SA judge applauding the musician for his giving nature.
Akon was honoured at the BET Awards with a Global Good Award which is given to individuals who "champion causes which positively impact change and heighten awareness in different parts of the world."
In 2007 he launched the Konfidence Foundation which provides Senegalese youth with educational and health resources.
He also co-founded Akon Lighting Africa which has brought solar-powered electricity to rural homes across the continent.
Taking to his Instagram page, Somizi was clearly in awe, saying that he looks up to the star.
The Idols SA judge, who has his own reality show, often shows how he gives back through dance and fitness.
