Nigerian entertainment blog SDK is reporting that the popular singer and co-host of MTV's Lip Sync Battle Africa tied-the-knot over the weekend in a top secret wedding ceremony.

The site reports that the ceremony was apparently so secret that guests thought they were attending a birthday party. (Which might have made for some really awkward wedding gifts).

Reports in Nigeria claim to have been attended by only about 25 close friends and family members.

  • D’banj: ‘I am a blesser’Just hours before his Lip Sync Battle debut on Thursday night‚ Nigerian singer-songwriter D’banj revealed during a side-splitting radio interview with Anele Mdoda on 947‚ that he plans to branch into acting‚ how his mom pressures him to get married‚ and more importantly‚ that he’s a “blesser.”

The site reports claims the musicians mystery bride is a 24-year-old student whose mother is half South African and half Nigerian.

On the day of the supposed wedding, the musician posted a picture of himself with fellow musician DJ Obi Ajuonuma , before taking to Instagram the next day to post a picture of himself with his family celebrating his father's birthday.

The muso, who was previously linked to SA TV personality Bonang Matheba, has been fiercely private when it comes to his love life but has hinted before at wanting to get married.

In an interview back in April, the singer revealed that if he was to get married it would be a secret affair.

"Who said I am not married? I would tell you the truth, I am not married but if I am, nobody would hear about it. It is going to be a very quiet wedding," he told Nigeria's Premium Times.
