Ambitious Entertainment's Benchmarq have hit back at suggestions that the company has been buying its awards, saying that no one questioned the awards when AKA and Cassper were winning.

Speaking to Hip Hop Galaxy recently, the hip-hop act called the rumours "stupid" and said that the label's success comes from working hard and gathering support on the ground.

"If you thought about the Payola (paying for your song to be played on radio) thing, you thought about...you are stupid! I'll say this again, Ambitiouz went from Limpopo to KZN to Kimberley dropping pamphlets- campaigning, campaigning, campaigning - while you guys sat at home, sipping tea, talking about how you got bottles and models. Honestly, you guys are stupid," the group's Tkay said angrily

  • Emtee shoots down 'robbery' rumours: Me and my manager are coolRapper Emtee has spoken out for the first time since rumours of a possible feud between him and his manager surfaced, telling fans watching the SA Music Awards that he and his manager are cool.

They went on to explain that the label provides a breath of fresh air to the industry and that's the reason why people love them so much.

"Ambitiouz is winning because it's new. It's new everything," they said.
