Seven months after announcing that she would be taking a break from The Soil to focus on her ancestral calling, frontwoman Buhle Mda has officially graduated as a sangoma.

According to Daily Sun, Buhle was welcomed back from her initiation, accompanied by ululating, singing and the beating of drums at her home in Protea Glen, Soweto, on Saturday.

The now fully-fledged practitioner will be returning to The Soil in August, joining the award-winning group on their ongoing #ExperienceTheSoil tour which kicked off on April 29 this year at Umfolozi Casino in Empangeni, KwaZulu-Natal.

During an interview with TMG Entertainment in May, The Soil's Ntsika Ngxanga revealed the songstress impressed her initiation mentors so much that they gave her the go ahead to return to music.

"It was up to her mentors to decide how long she would be away for but she got it pretty quickly. They told her two weeks ago that she could soon return to music and she was very excited," Ntsika said.
