TV personality Thembisa Mdoda has revealed that she "was very upset," after being spurned at her initial audition to host Mzansi Magic's popular TV show, Our Perfect Wedding.

According to a DRUM report, Thembisa auditioned to host the fifth season of the show, however, the job was given to Ayanda Mpama, who took over the reins from previous host Tumi Morake.

"I’m a sensitive person and was very upset when the job went to Aya Mpama," she told the local publication.

After Ayanda was dropped from the reality show, Thembisa stepped in. Surprised to have received a warm welcome from fans of the show, she admitted that she was "overwhelmed" by the response that she got, especially on social media, adding "I actually cried" when she made her debut.

Taking to Instagram previously, Thembisa echoed a similar statement. "When the first show aired I was nervous and excited, then completely grateful ever since," she wrote.

She also reflected on her journey, saying it has been an ''honour."

"What a responsibility. What an honour to spend my days with people on their journey of love. A reality show that celebrates love in its entirety. Good or bad, but they make it to the aisle. Come hell or high water. You will learn alot here, I thought. I have. I still am," she added.
