Gospel star Sfiso Ncwane has told TMG Entertainment that he is in absolute shock over claims of 'neglect' levelled against him by his 18-year-old daughter.

Sfiso's comments come hot on the heels of a Drum magazine report in which his daughter, Nqobile Mzelemu, accused him of being an "absent father."

“My father is a gospel star. A role model who blesses people with extravagant cars. He donates to the poor, but he is neglecting me," she told the publication.

The teenager also claimed that numerous attempts to reach Sfiso have apparently been ignored. She also told the publication that while she and her mother lived in poverty, Sfiso "blesses people with extravagant cars."

However, the singer says that he has been left absolutely confused and hurt by the claims.

"I am really shocked and confused because I haven't heard any complaints from Nqobile about money before," he said.

Sfiso said that he does not understand the complaints because he has been paying an amount of money that the courts decided.

"If she has a problem over the money she should have come to me. Going to the newspaper is not going to help her."

Sfiso does acknowledge that he doesn't really have a relationship with his daughter, telling TMG Entertainment that he only found out she was his daughter at a late stage.

"I don't have a relationship with her because I only found out she was my child when she was 12-years-old. Even if she wants to have a relationship with me, that can't happen now. This is really hurting me and it's not the way to start a relationship," he said.

This is not the first time that Sfiso has made headlines for allegedly neglecting his family. Last year Sfiso and his mother Fikile Ncwane got embroiled in a public feud, after she alleged that the gospel star didn't take care of her.

Sfiso rubbished the claims at the time, saying that he has always taken care of his family. The musician also  made headlines after he revealed that he had bought a R2 million Mercedes Benz for his pastor who helped him through a rough patch in life.
