Gagasi drive time DJ TP has returned to work after being held up in a hijacking on Tuesday.

According to Daily Sun, the DJ, whose real name is Trevor Phillips, was reportedly held up after leaving a Durban nightclub on Tuesday morning.

  •

The publication claims that two men approached TP, forcing him into his car and drove off. He was later found in Tongaat, near Durban and told the reaction unit that found him that the men had forced him to withdraw R1,000 before tying him up and dropping him in a sugarcane field.

Speaking to TMG Entertainment on Thursday, Gagasi FM spokesperson Khulekani Shandu confirmed that the radio star had been involved in a hijacking and that he had returned to work following the incident.

"He was involved in a hijacking and he has reported the incident to the police. He's fine and back at work," Khulekani said.

He said that the DJ is shaken but has not let the obvious shock of the incident affect his work.

  •

This is the second incident in a little over a month to hit the station, after DJ Diva Kadach was recently held up and stabbed at his Durban home.

Khulekani said that TP's co-workers have all offered their support to him but that the mood at the station had not been affected by the incidents.

"Obviously everyone is sad and have tried to help him (TP) but everything is fine and the mood is normal at the station," Khulekani said.
