SA's favourite weatherman Derek van Dam is going to be a dad!

Former SA TV weatherman Derek van Dam and his wife Tara are going to be parents.

Derek, who used to melt hearts with his dreamy weather reports on enca, took to Instagram on Monday to confirm that he and Tara are expecting a baby girl in March next year.

"This changes everything...and I couldn't be happier or more excited!" a gushing Derek said of the upcoming birth.

Tara also took to Instagram to reveal that she has been waiting her whole life to announce that she was pregnant.

The pair relocated to America two years ago but have always shared fond memories of their time in South Africa.
