Twitter crucifies Minnie Dlamini's 'historic' KickOff cover
TV personality Minnie Dlamini caused a social media ruckus on Thursday when she was unveiled as the first female cover star of local footie mag KickOff.
Minnie, who recently took a job as a host on SuperSport, graces the magazine's March 2017 cover posed in a smart suit with a soccer ball.

The decision to use Minnie on the cover split Twitter, with many fans questioning why a local female football star was not used.
The saddest thing about this Minnie cover on Kick Off is that Portia Modise was a Banyana Banyana star for close to a decade. No cover

Sometimes its really our fault women are not taken serious. How many women did well in sports esp soccer and Minnie had to be on cover 1st? https://t.co/vHmthgGFWV

@KickOffMagazine We need answers. Y is Minnie the first on your cover? She doesn't even play soccer. There's even female coaches nd referees https://t.co/NzdPOgtZLk

While some users claimed that the cover was "disrespectful to football".
LMAO! Minnie Dlamini on the KickOff's cover page? What a joke. So disrespectful to our football.

@KickOffMagazine all the work you've been doing since 1994 has been undone by putting Minnie Dlamin on the cover. What a disgrace

Despite the backlash to the cover Minnie's fans hailed it and defended her.
