After 7 years of making Metro FM listeners dance on weekends, Sphectacula and DJ Naves have bid farewell to the SABC radio station and will host their last show this Saturday.

'The Kings of the weekend' made the announcement on The Fresh Breakfast show.

"This Saturday will be our last show on Metro FM. We are taking a small break to focus on other things for now," the duo confirmed.

The pair explained that it is time to challenge themselves and move out of their comfort zone. They said that it was not an easy decision to make but they have to stick to their original plan.

"No, it was not easy at all. There were many sleepless nights, including last night. But we have always been firm in terms of our plans and wanting to make things a success," the pair said to DJ Fresh.

They expressed their gratitude to the station and shared that they do not rule out coming back to Metro and that they don't know who will replace them yet.

SABC spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago confirmed the broadcaster was currently in the process of appointing a replacement, but would not reveal who they were planning to appoint.
