Former Kaizer Chiefs captain Jimmy Tau is allegedly planning to send a delegation to the family of George Lebese’s ex-girlfriend to begin lobola negotiations.

According to Sunday Sun sources, Tau is said to be responsible for the break-up between Lebese and his ex-girlfriend Sizakele Manonga.

Tau and Manonga are said to be romantically involved with Tau having recently proposed to the Pretoria based beauty.

After a nasty break-up between Lebese and Manonga in February, Lebese was arrested and released on R1,000 bail for allegedly assaulting Manonga and kicking her like a soccer ball.

According to the paper, Tau has been bragging to his inner circle of friends that he has scored a jackpot as Manonga comes from a wealthy family and she is independent and has her own money.

Manonga's two brothers recently featured on Vuzu Amp's Rich Kids reality show where they showed off their 14-bedroom mansion, customised Mercedes Benz AMG 45s and bragged about their family owning four Bentley, Ferraris and 12 luxury German cars.

“Jimmy’s eyes are on the bigger prize. He knows if he marries Sizakele he won’t have to struggle because there will always be financial back-up. Jimmy has his own money,” according to the report.

Tau apparently hung up when the paper tried to get a comment from him.

Meanwhile Manonga told Drum magazine that Lebese had a history of abuse. She said the assault in February was not the first time he was violent towards her.

Manonga said Lebese had damaged her Porsche when he slashed the soft top of the costly convertible. On what happened the night of the assault, Manonga said their altercation indeed began over her cellphone.

A fight broke out and Manonga tried to get away in her luxury Mercedes Benz but was blocked by Lebese's family and friends.

"He attacked me and they all watched, including his mother, Delphine. I can't believe some of the things she said to me," said Manonga.

The beauty added that she has a protection order out on Lebese and has moved on with her life.
