Popular Canadian TV show host Christopher Hyndman has died.

Best known as the co-host of the CBC design and talk show Steven and Chris, and the other half of Steven Sabados, his on-screen and off-screen partner, police say Hyndman was found dead near the apartment where the couple lived in downtown Toronto.

No further details are available on the cause of death.

Hyndman was 49.

Between their daytime talk show and other design series with HGTV, the pair have appeared on TV screens in 80 countries, and were also featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Steven and Chris has been pulled from its regular programming for now.
