'Minecraft - Pocket Edition' released for Kindle Fire
Previously made available for iOS and Android devices, creative block building game Minecraft - Pocket Edition has joined the ranks of the Amazon Appstore as a Kindle Fire app.
The download costs $7, on par with its Apple and Android equivalents -- fitting, as the Kindle Fire uses a variant of the Android operating system as its own foundation -- and without the sort of technical trickery that Kindle owners had previously been using to get Minecraft working on their devices.
Amazon has been promoting its Appstore with a sequence of free daily apps, while hits from the iOS and Android circuit such as Where's My Perry, Cut the Rope and Temple Run: Brave populate the best-sellers chart.
