Get to Rocking the Daisies the eco-friendly way
This year Rocking the Daisies fans can choose from a diverse and cool range of transport options with which to make their way to the 7 edition of this eco-friendly music and lifestyle festival.
The festival takes place from October 4 to 7 at the Cloof Wine Estate near Darling.
So that you don’t miss a single minute of the entire festival experience, the Rocking the Daisies crew has put together a number of transport options to help you make your way to Daisies in style.
Walk
See how a simple a change
in your travel efforts can make a huge difference to our world. 100 select
festival-goers will walk along the West Coast to the festival, taking in the signature Cape
landscape as part of this eco-initiative run by Culture Talent and Rocking the
Daisies, and proudly brought to you by Fruit and Veg City:
Walking the Daisies.
Walking the Daisies has teamed up GreenPop and the Sunflower Fund this year. Walkers will be asked to each donate R150 that will go towards a tree that will be planted on behalf of each walker, as well as a sunflower bandana as a contribution to the fantastic work done by the Sunflower Fund.
Walking the Daisies applications are now open via a Fruit and Veg City Facebook Tab, which hosts a fun and educational nutritional quiz in order to get you one step closer to applying for the Walk.
Applicants will be rated on their Nutritional IQ and will receive a discount voucher of up to 15% on their next shop at FVC Food Lover's Market Tokai. This is also where you will find the application form to do the Walk.
Cycle
This year, 100
like-minded cycling enthusiasts will set off early on Friday, October 5, and
peddle their way to the festival.
Due to high demand, we are proud to announce that the tickets for the Cycle to Daisies adventure have already been sold out.
However, don’t let that stop you as we have other options for you.
Carpool
Rocking the Daisies is working with goCarShare to help people share car
journeys. An internationally acclaimed carpooling system, goCarShare offers a
great way to save money, help those that need a lift to get together, all the
while doing their bit to reduce their carbon emissions.
The Carpool option is built around Facebook, allowing you to find people who have friends in common and similar interests. "Life's a journey. It's not just about where you want to go, it's how you get there. So if you have an empty seat, or want a lift - share. That's the joy of goCarShare."
If you decide not to use the goCarShare option above, please make sure to catch a lift with your mates (at least three to a car if possible) and help towards making this a greener and more sustainable festival.
Daisy Train from Johannesburg
Whether you are partying
and chatting to your mates or just watching some of the amazingly beautiful
country landscapes roll past your window, The Daisy Train gives festival-goers
a classic build up to the festival, and makes for an exciting beginning to a
weekend that promises a four-day event filled with friends, music, sunshine and
general Daisies craziness.
The Daisy Train creates an intangible mosaic of memorable moments, experiences and sensations that melt together to form one big happy smile.
As soon as passengers step onto the train, they are transferred to a parallel universe where time, space and real life ceases to exist. A week-long vacation that seems to last forever and yet it’s over in the blink of an eye.
Tickets are on sale, but be warned, there are only 120 tickets available! Price: R2 200 per person.
Securing a spot on the train requires a deposit of R1 000 that will have to be paid before August 30. First come, first serve. (No refunds).
