Marc Rosenlöcher, Germany: It's quite an understatement to say that many people in the world love the World Cup.

Contributing to a great part of its atmosphere are the different chants and acoustic support sounds of the football supporters from around the world.

It goes without saying that everybody in the world should tolerate the usage of the vuvuzuela - if it's used to support African teams.

However, if other teams are playing each other, it's surely disrespectful towards the international teams' supporters to have it blasting throughout their engagements?

Because of the vuvuzelas being played throughout the games, no cultural differences can be heard!

No French "allez les bleus", no "Lo Argentina", no Brazilian samba, no German ''.schland", no "Que viva España!", no "We are red we are white, we are Danish dynamite" . and even the usually strong English supporters were hardly able to get their"Rule Britannia" heard.

Besides the absence of cultural flavour, with the heavy use of the vuvuzuela you can't even hear applause.

I am afraid that during this World Cup every game will sound the same throughout every match.

Do South Africans really want the World Cup taking place in their country to be the worst of all time in terms of acoustic atmosphere?

Do you want to show the world that your people are totally dismissive of the cultures of the guest team supporters?

As you might imagine, I do not only speak for myself.

I do not believe in a Fifa ban of the vuvuzuela.

But I do have strong hopes that the South African people will understand the issue, if it is appropriately addressed.

Again, I do respect the culture of African football supporters, but as I have to point out after just a few days of the 2010 World Cup, people do not seem to be showing any respect for the cultures of the guests to the country.

Please help make the World Cup a success for South Africa, and stop making it a showcase for ignorant cultural intolerance.
